Donation for Conservation

With your support, Perth Zoo can continue its vital work saving threatened wildlife. Because Perth Zoo covers all administration costs, 100% of your donation will help to save threatened species from extinction.

Make a Donation for Conservation

Donations to our Wildlife Conservation Action program are used to support field-based conservation in partnership with local and global conservation partners. Perth Zoo’s grants program has invested more than $3.5million into field-based conservation since 2007, delivering tangible, long term outcomes such as:

  • Protecting and securing natural habit;
  • Funding anti-poaching units;
  • Providing community education and employment;
  • Regional species breeding programs.

Thanks to your support, we are achieving a goal of safe, secure wildlife populations and natural habitat. To find out more about how donating helps save wildlife click here to visit our Conservation in Action page.

Your donation is fully tax-deductible (for donations over AU$2), and there are many ways to donate. Donate to Perth Zoo's Wildlife Conservation Action online now or download a Donation Form (PDF).

Perth Zoo needs your help to protect threatened species in the wild.

From school and community groups to work colleagues and friends, everyone can get in on the action and help protect threatened species in the wild - all you need is a little creativity!

To encourage team building in your workplace, school or community group or to just get your friends together in support of Wildlife Conservation Action, you could organise a fundraising event. Some examples include:

  • Casual dress days
  • A walk-a-thon or similar where each participant is sponsored per lap or for participation
  • A pet walk where each participant is sponsored
  • A fete, carnival or trivia night
  • A sausage sizzle
  • A silent auction at your workplace or a garage sale at home
  • A film night at your local cinema or school
  • A photo or art exhibition or competition
  • Ride a bicycle, carpool or catch public transport to work or school and contribute your petrol money to Wildlife Conservation Action

Perth Zoo covers all administration costs for Wildlife Conservation Action, which means that 100% of donations received will be directly contributing to on-the-ground projects such as habitat protection, anti-poaching and anti-logging patrol units, community education, wildlife monitoring and research into threatened species.

Every donation and every dollar helps.

To fundraise for Perth Zoo’s Wildlife Conservation Action, you must register your group with Perth Zoo and your fundraising activities must be approved by Perth Zoo prior to commencement. To register your details and your activity please contact the Partnerships Team on 08 9474 0392 or partnerships@perthzoo.wa.gov.au

To help you on your way download the Perth Zoo Fundraising Kit (PDF).

Donation boxes are also available and we encourage all community groups and businesses groups to display them. Due to restricted resources and to reduce outgoing costs in order to maximise contributions to Wildlife Conservation Action, we encourage you to collect any boxes from Perth Zoo, and return them to the Zoo when they are full or when your fundraising activity has finished.

Thank you for your support!

Workplace Giving

Imagine if you could help employ an anti-poaching patrol unit to protect Sumatran Tigers, Sumatran Orangutans and Asian Elephants in the wild. You can.

Perth Zoo welcomes ongoing donations from businesses and employees through a workplace giving program. Workplace giving is an easy and efficient way of supporting Wildlife Conservation Action and the threatened species it supports. Not only is it an easy way to give, you have the knowledge that you are supporting species in desperate need of help.

Workplace giving is a simple and effective method of making regular donations to a nominated fund. You pledge an amount of your choice and your donation is automatically deducted from your pay and forwarded to the nominated fund. The best part is that your donations are taken out before tax which means that a deduction of $20 from pre-tax earnings may only cost you $14 (assuming a marginal tax rate of 40%).

Your regular donations through workplace giving will contribute to the conservation of several species in the wild including Sumatran Orangutans, Sumatran Tigers, Sumatran Elephants, Silvery Gibbons, New Guinea Tree Kangaroo, African Painted Dog, Sun Bear, native species and frogs. Find out how your donations are helping save wildlife.

Perth Zoo covers the administration costs for Wildlife Conservation Action which means that 100% of your donation goes to conservation projects.

If you would like more information about workplace giving in support of Perth Zoo’s Wildlife Conservation Action, contact the Partnerships team at Perth Zoo on 08 9474 0339 , email partnerships@perthzoo.wa.gov.au or download a Workplace Giving Form (PDF).

A Lasting Gift in Your Will

Leaving a gift in your Will to Perth Zoo will help ensure the Zoo remains a haven for wildlife and for generations to come. Bequests are a lasting and positive legacy that will be invested in the future of the Zoo and the wildlife it helps protect.

How to leave a gift in your Will

A bequest is an instruction in your Will that specifies the amount and type of gift you are making to Perth Zoo. We recommend you consult a solicitor when drafting your Will. There are several types of bequests, which include:

  • Residuary: The remainder of your estate after your loved ones have been taken care of;
  • Percentage: A percentage of your estate;
  • Pecuniary: A fixed cash amount.

There are other types of bequest that your solicitor can advise you of. When leaving a gift in your Will, we suggest the following wording:

Residuary - this is a gift of whatever remains of your Estate:

 “I, _______________, give to Zoological Parks Authority (Perth Zoo) of 20 Labouchere Road, South Perth WA 6951 for its general purposes the residue of my Estate”

Pecuniary - A fixed cash amount:

“I, _______________, give to Zoological Parks Authority (Perth Zoo) of 20 Labouchere Road, South Perth WA 6951 for its general purposes the sum of $___________.”

Percentage - A percentage of your Estate:

“I, _______________, give to Zoological Parks Authority (Perth Zoo) of 20 Labouchere Road, South Perth WA 6951 for its general purposes ___________% of my Estate.”
