Perth Zoo is currently being targeted by a group of people who claim to care about elephants, yet know little about our elephants or their individual needs. Many of the claims being made are inflammatory, baseless and completely contradict the way we care for the animals at Perth Zoo.
Digging deep for Australia's most endangered reptile
It’s not every day you get to help create a home for Australia’s most endangered reptile, but recently four volunteers from Midland Brick did just that, digging deep to plant out the ponds in our new Western Swamp Tortoise breeding complex.
The environmentally-friendly ‘eco toilet’ opened at Perth Zoo in August 2010 demonstrating the principles of ecologically sustainable design. The toilet facilities, located near the Nocturnal House, incorporate sustainability into every aspect of its design, and is proudly sponsored by the Water Corporation.
