Perth Zoo shares parking with the South Perth Golf Course and a range of neighbouring businesses and retailers, which means that parking can be competitive in peak periods. If you decide to drive to the Zoo here’s the parking options.

Paid Parking

A total of five carparks (500+ bays) are available to early-birds on a paid-by-hour (or by day) basis. Short-stay street parking is available on streets surrounding Perth Zoo (a mix of paid and time-restricted). To avoid a penalty, make sure you read the signs and observe the fee/time restrictions.

Kiss and Ride

Car parks already full? Consider dropping your family, prams and eskies at the Zoo entrance and head to a parking bay further away. Pull up in any of the carparks adjacent to the Zoo and let your family out away from the busy road then head off in search of a park before returning to meet them later.

Hint: Residential side streets a few blocks up Labouchere Road are unpaid and unrestricted and you can jump on any passing bus to speed you back to the Zoo’s entrance to meet your family.

Accessible Parking

The Zoo offers seven accessible parking bays within 100 m of the entrance. Disability permits need to be clearly displayed and current. Accessible parking incurs standard fees in paid car parks. Our Accessibility Map caters to different types of disabilities and focuses on the facilities Perth Zoo offers including ACROD-parking as shown.

Australia Day

Parking is at a premium in South Perth on Australia Day (January 26) and a number of local road closures are implemented. If you’re thinking of coming to the Zoo on Australia Day we urge you to take public transport or get dropped off. If you decide to drive, we recommend you check the City of South Perth website closer to the day for the most up-to-date information on road closures and parking, as well as the public transport options available.
