Spoiler alert: If you can’t eat 11 heads of lettuce as a snack then you’re in for a challenge!

Our Sumatran Orangutan Dinar can out-eat everyone in our Orangutan colony. Let’s see if you could keep up with this ravenous red-head!

Dinar eats more than 2 kilograms of leafy greens every day, including cabbage, kale, broccoli, celery, leek, bok choy, and spinach.

If you thought 2 kilos was enough, think again, because he also loves to snack on tree cambium throughout the day!

It’s not all green goddess salads for Dinar though. He also eats more than 1.1 kilograms of colourful vegetables daily!

This vegie-munching machine eats the rainbow with capsicum, cucumber, pumpkin, potato, beetroot and more.

Feeling full? Well we’re not done yet!

Variety is the spice of life, so Dinar also eats two boiled eggs four times a week, a 1/2 cup of quinoa three times a week, one apple, banana, corn cob or avocado per day, nuts, and a tasty oat ball on Saturdays.

PHEW!

So, do you think you could challenge this peckish primate to a food-eating contest?

There’s no sneaking any butter or salt! It’s just you vs produce.

And if you REALLY want to eat like an orangutan, you’ll have to hide your food around the house so you can forage before you eat it!

By the end of the day your jaw may be sore, and your tummy might feel like a vegetable patch, but you’ll have a newfound respect for the appetite of our amazing apes.
