Frequently Asked Questions
+ Why are the food and beverage outlets cashless?
The Zoo’s new café which opened in September does not accept cash as cashless businesses are a simple way to help the environment, and there are signs posted in the venues to let our visitors know.
Many businesses also went cashless during COVID-19 and have maintained such practices going forward, particularly in the food and beverage world where hygiene is so important. By putting these and other measures in place, we can help minimise the impact on the environment and create a more hygienic space for our visitors.
Every action, no matter how big or small, can help make a difference.
+ Why are the vending machines cashless?
Our beverage vending machines are managed by an external supplier – they are all cashless across Australia to help make machine management more sustainable. But our ice-cream vending machines still accept cash at this time.
+ Can I purchase water if I only have cash?
We have plenty of free water stations located around the Zoo for visitors to use or fill up water bottles with.
+ I have another question. Can I talk to someone?
