That’s why we’re doing everything we can to set our pair of Asian Elephants up for success when they move to their forever home.
 
Our dedicated animal carers have been working tirelessly to prepare the elephants for their journey to Monarto Safari Park in South Australia.
 
And while our pair aren’t leaving for SA until mid-late next year, it’s important we don’t rush any part of the process! Tiny steps each and every day will lead to big success.
 
This month, our veterinary team and elephant keeping team worked together on a sedation trial for male Putra Mas.
 
A light sedation will help Putra Mas relax during the trip and hopefully ease any pesky travel nerves that might arise. This will help make the journey safer for him and his carers – win win!
 
This successful trial helped our experts find the perfect dose for Putra Mas and allows us to map out timings for how long the effects will last.

This important step in the journey strengthens our meticulous plan for a stress-free trip when the time comes.
