School holiday program for children in Year 3 to Year 6
This fun, school holiday program will take kids on an exciting Zoo adventure where they will investigate the challenges animals face, learn scientific skills and solve puzzles to become a Warrior for Wildlife!
Warriors for Wildlife offers a unique experience where children will;
- get a meet and greet with some of the amazing people working at Perth Zoo
- participate in hands-on, interactive challenges to discover ways they can help wildlife
- enjoy a special experience not available to general zoo visitors

Wildlife Tails with Scales
9, 15 and 20 January 2026
7 and 15 April 2026

- Get up close with some of our scaly friends.
- Use scientific equipment to find a healthy environment for reptiles.
- Become even more obsessed with reptiles as we learn about the amazing adaptations they have to survive.
Wildlife Rangers
8, 16 and 22 January 2026

- Observe one of our most elusive species during a morning keeper feed.
- Discover roles of wildlife rangers around the world.
- Take part in ranger tasks and team challenges to see if you have the skills to be a wildlife ranger.
Wildlife Protectors

- Participate in a special Nocturnal house experience before it opens to the public as we help the keepers prepare some animal enrichment.
- Explore the threats to animals around the world.
- Channel your conservation hero to fight off threats in a team challenge.

- Explore how Perth Zoos habitats reflect wild habitats
- Learn about the brand-new Gibbon Crossing habitat at Perth Zoo and how it was created specifically to support the gibbons

Wildlife Watchers

- Discover some of the monitoring methods used in Perth Zoos Native Species Breeding Program on a behind the scenes tour.
- Observe animal behaviours in their exhibit to understand how we can monitor animals in the wild.
- Create your own wildlife watching journal.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
+ Can I book my younger/older child into a program that is for a different age range?
Unfortunately we are unable to accept bookings for children outside of the recommended age range for the chosen Kids and Youth Programs. There are a lot of factors that our expert Zoo educators, zoo keepers and veterinary staff consider when developing these unique, fun and educational experiences to not only ensure our animal residents are safe, comfortable and happy, but that the educational experiences are age and school year appropriate.
+ Can I change the date of my booking?
Yes, you may change the day of your booking a minimum of 7 days before the original booked date. You can do this by logging into the Perth Zoo account used to purchase the ticket. Select ‘Your Purchases’, then click ‘Change Booking’ and select a new day to attend.
+ Is there a waitlist for fully booked sessions?
There is no waiting list for our Kids and Youth Programs . If there are cancellations, the tickets will be re-released on our website. So keep an eye on our website for any updates.
+ My child can no longer attend, can I get a refund?
Tickets to attend our Kids and Youth Programs are non-refundable. Please ensure you have chosen the correct date and program for your child when booking. A no show on the day will result in the ticket being forfeited.
+ What does my child need to bring?
Please make sure your child is wearing enclosed shoes and weather appropriate clothing such as a hat, jacket and raincoat. Also pack a water bottle, morning tea and lunch to keep tummies from rumbling.
