Welcome to Perth Zoo

Happy, Healthy and Thriving

Staying healthy is essential! This program explores how we care for our bodies—inside and out—and highlights the importance of mental wellbeing too.

Using a variety of Zoo animals, the program draws connections between how humans stay healthy and how Zoo keepers and vets care for animal wellbeing.

This experience will take place in a Discovery Room, followed by a short walk to the Gibbon Crossing. Students will;

  • investigate the many ways we care for animals at the Zoo
  • explore the similarities and differences with their own personal healthcare
  • have fun discovering what our mystery Zoo health care items are
  • be surprised to learn how Zoo exhibits have changed over time to support animal welfare
  • explore the amazing Gibbon Crossing, and discover how it's helping this endangered species to thrive
