Welcome to Perth Zoo

Over a third of the world’s amphibians are threatened with extinction and we want to keep our frog friends hopping for years to come.

Working with our colleagues in Biodiversity and Conservation Science, we have been giving a couple of native West Australian frogs a head start in life since 2008.

Every year, egg clutches of the critically endangered White-bellied frog (Geocrinia alba) and vulnerable Orange-bellied Frog (Geocrinia vitellina) are collected from the wild and brought to the Zoo to safely hatch and grow before being released back into their natural habitat.
