Two new members have been appointed to the Zoological Parks Authority board to help shape the next chapter of Perth Zoo.
Mr Travis Robinson brings 20 years of leadership experience in both government and the private sector, including a stint as Chief of Staff at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.
Currently the Chief Operating Officer of Australian Capital Equity, Mr Robinson has a strong background in stakeholder engagement and has worked extensively to unite diverse groups to achieve shared goals.
His expertise in economic and social issues in Indonesia as Chair of the WA chapter of the Australia Indonesia Business Council will provide a valuable perspective.
Mr John Pirie is the Head of Facility Management (Western Australia & Resources) at Programmed and brings more than 25 years of senior executive experience.
His deep understanding of commercial and regulatory environments, along with his proven track record of corporate improvement will support Perth Zoo’s strategic direction.
Mr Pirie also serves as Chair of not-for-profit Rosewood Care Group, demonstrating his commitment to both business success and community service.
The new members join the existing Board at a transformative time for Perth Zoo, overseeing the implementation of the 20-year Master Plan which was kickstarted by a $51 million investment from the Cook Government.
The new Board appointments will build on the Zoo’s ongoing growth and success as a leading conservation agency, while also creating more magical, educational moments for the community to connect with wildlife.
