Magic Forest - Australia

(Years 1-3)

Students participate in a roleplay using puppets and costumes to explore the basic needs of our native species and threats to their survival. Students will discover that protecting trees ensures that forests stay magical places for both animals and people.

After hearing an original story, children explore the Australian Bushwalk wearing colourful native animal costumes. Students report back on how our native species meet their basic needs for survival and identify actions they can take to help conserve our bushland habitats.

Celebrate the end of the school year Zoo style! Like a true wildlife detective, join us at Zoo Fest to follow the clues to learn all about the tracks and traces that animals leave. Through a series of activities and games, students will not only become more attune to evidence in nature that tells about resident animals in the wild, but also how it takes a team to save wildlife.
