1. Website User Accounts ("Accounts")

1.1 It is optional to create an account prior to conducting a transaction on Perth Zoo’s  website. A  transaction can proceed without creation of an account, though some mandatory information will be collected (see “Information We Collect” section in the Perth Zoo Website Privacy Statement). Creating an Account will enable you to:
a) receive information and email communications relating to your purchase from Perth Zoo;
b) change your personal information (held by Perth Zoo);
c) view previous purchase history; and
d) reduce the time it takes to perform future similar transactions (by using your existing personal information).

By creating an Account, Perth Zoo may use your transaction history and personal information to better understand your interactions with Perth Zoo and to improve its products and services in future. See the Privacy Statement for more information about how your personal information is protected and used. 

1.2 When registering an Account, you agree to provide accurate and complete information about yourself. The onus is on you to  keep this information up-to-date.

1.3 Perth Zoo reserves the right to refuse registration of an Account (or to close an existing Account) where you:
a) have an existing Account. 
b) have (or are attempting to) open/ed an Account in a fraudulent or illegal manner;
c) have breached these Terms and Conditions of Use;
 
You are solely responsible for the activity that occurs on your Account and for keeping your Account log-in and password secure.

1.4 By subscribing to Perth Zoo News or by completing any form on Perth Zoo’s website, you agree to receive updates about products and services, promotions, special offers, and news and events from Perth Zoo.

2. E-Ticketing

2.1 By purchasing a Perth Zoo entry ticket an e-ticket holder agrees that theyhave read the terms and conditions in this document and agrees to them unconditionally.

2.2 Tickets are defined as:

  • Adult;

  • Australian Concession (other than Seniors), Australian Health Care Card holders and Students over 15 years-of-age;

  • Senior;

  • Children (4-15 years-of-age);

  • Children under 4 years-of-age;

  • Carers;

  • Mini Group (2 adults and 2 children).

Entry for a child under four (4) years-of-age is free-of-charge but requires an entry ticket.

2.3 Concession tickets are defined as:
a) Senior Concession Rate:

  • Blue Government cards;

  • Pension cards;

  • White Seniors Cards – State and Federal;

  • Repatriation Health Card (Gold);

  • Health Care Card specifying reason as “Age”;

  • Veterans Affairs Card;

  • For overseas seniors, proof of age cards or passport showing age as +65 years.

b) Student Concession Rate

  • Any Australian student card with a valid sticker or date – student must be studying in Australia.

c) Standard Concession Rate

  • Health Care Card.

d) Carer

  • Carers require a ticket but enter free-of-charge on presentation of a government issued carers’ Companion Card by the individual they are accompanying.

2.4 E-ticketing conditions

2.4.1 Unless otherwise indicated, general admission tickets are valid for three (3) years from the date of issue (printed on the ticket) and cannot be extended. General admission tickets bought on behalf of somebody else via the gift option must first be confirmed and are valid for three (3) years from the date the gift was purchased (not the date the order was confirmed). 

2.4.2 Ticket prices are in Australian Dollars.

2.4.3 Perth Zoo reserves the right to change ticket prices with or without notice.

2.4.4 Existing tickets may be upgraded to a higher value, but not a lower value. The customer must pay the difference between the ticket values (e.g. upgrading a Child ticket to an Adult ticket). The validity date for upgraded tickets will be the same as that for the original ticket type being upgraded.

2.4.5 Maximum online ticket purchase is 29 individuals. For 30 and above, the Group Booking phone line should be called on 08 9474 0444.

2.4.6 Single entry only (unless entering on a mini-group ticket).

2.4.7 Non-refundable.

2.4.8 Lost, stolen or destroyed tickets cannot be replaced. Treat them as cash.

2.4.9 Children 15 years or under must be supervised by an accompanying adult.

2.4.10 To redeem an e-ticket, you must either:
a) For tickets ordered via post – bring the tickets to the Zoo for presentation on entry; 
b) For self-printed tickets – print tickets from the website ticket printing facility at the time of transaction or print tickets from the email sent to your specified email address.  Printed transaction receipts are not a valid form of entry.

If a concession ticket was purchased, a valid form of concession ID is required  on entry. If the delivery option of postage is chosen, Perth Zoo makes no guarantee for the delivery time frame of the tickets (which  is out of Perth Zoo’s control).

3. Conditions of Entry to Perth Zoo

3.1 While Perth Zoo takes its duty of care to all visitors very seriously, the Zoo accepts no liability (in negligence or howsoever) to any person for loss or injury arising from a visit. For your own safety, it is a condition of entry that visitors regard all warning signs, do not venture over exhibit safety barriers and do not enter the Zoo’s off-limit areas. Visitors must never enter an animal exhibit or behind-the-scenes area without permission. (Reg 13 - Penalty $2000)

3.2 No smoking. Perth Zoo is 100% smoke free for the health and safety of our staff, visitors and animals. This includes all electronic cigarettes and vaping implements. (Reg 21 - Penalty $2000)

3.3 Do not feed, touch or disturb the animals. This includes throwing objects into the animal exhibits. (Reg 12 - Penalty $2000)

3.4 Do not bring an animal to Perth Zoo. It is an offence to bring any animal into Perth Zoo without permission. (Reg 17 - Penalty $2000)

3.5 If the opening hours of Perth Zoo are altered, closed, cancelled or curtailed, ticket refunds or exchanges will be at the absolute discretion of Perth Zoo.

3.6 Hours of operation and admission may vary for special events. You must not remain in the Zoo after it has closed. (Reg 5 - Penalty $600)

3.7 Children under 12 years must be supervised at all times and cannot enter without an accompanying adult. (Reg 6 - Penalty $600)

3.8 Tickets are non-refundable and are not valid past the expiry date displayed on the face of the ticket (online purchases) or the date of issue (for tickets purchased at the Zoo’s entrance).

3.9 If a refund is approved or tickets reissued:
a) the method of that refund will be at the absolute discretion of Perth Zoo; and
b) Perth Zoo may retain any service or like fee it has charged (including booking fees) and any postage or other incidental costs that it has incurred in relation to that ticket.

3.10 If an outdoor performance/event is cancelled due to adverse weather or for any other cause beyond the reasonable control of Perth Zoo, the visitor has no automatic right to a refund of their ticket. In such circumstances, Perth Zoo is not required to arrange a substitute service, event or performance, and any decision to provide visitors with a ticket exchange is made at the absolute discretion of Perth Zoo.

3.11 Perth Zoo reserves the right to add, withdraw or substitute artists, and vary advertised programs and audience capacity.

3.12 Tickets must be retained by the holder and produced upon request until their visit to Perth Zoo has concluded. (Reg 5 - Penalty $600)

3.13 We welcome your wheelchairs, strollers, prams, gophers and other essential mobility aids. For the animals’ welfare and your safety and comfort, non-essential transport (two-wheeled scooters, bicycles, skateboards and roller-skates/blades), sporting items, whistles, laser pointers, balls, balloons, sun shelters, tents, marquees, pets, drones and any other items that are deemed unsuitable by Perth Zoo are not permitted. (Reg 18 - Penalty $600)

3.14 Perth Zoo reserves the right to inspect bags, eskies, etc.

3.15 Perth Zoo retains the right to deny access and/or eject visitors who are being a public nuisance, acting recklessly or failing to observe directions from Visitor Services Officers, other Perth Zoo staff, or signage. The decision to deny access and/or eject a visitor is made at the absolute discretion of Perth Zoo.

3.16 Unauthorised photography for commercial purposes is prohibited. You cannot publish, broadcast or reproduce images and video you take at Perth Zoo to promote goods and services. (Reg 29 - Penalty $2000)

3.17 Perth Zoo may take photographs and/or video recordings (or stills therefrom) of Visitors and may use these photographs and video recordings for any worldwide media or other purpose, including but not limited to advertising or promotional purposes, and training purposes, without payment of any kind to Visitor(s). If a Visitor is under 16 years-of-age, the parent, guardian or responsible adult booking or accompanying them to Perth Zoo as a general visitor, and/or for an event(s), education program(s) or animal close encounter(s) will be deemed to have given consent on their behalf, unless notified in writing at the time of booking. Entry to Perth Zoo as a general visitor, and/or for an event(s), education program(s), redemption of a prize(s) or animal close encounter(s) shall be deemed consent to the use of these photographs and video recordings.

3.18 24-hour video surveillance and monitored alarms are in use on these premises.

3.19 No graffiti, advertising or spruiking. It is an offence to graffiti and or place advertising around the Zoo without permission or use it for purposes of public speaking. (Reg 24 — Penalty $2000)  

3.20 Visitors must comply with the Zoological Parks Authority Regulations 2002.

3.21 ABN 12 249 686 526.

4. Zoo Membership Terms and Conditions

4.1 A Perth Zoo Membership grants the listed member entry for 12 continuous months from the date of purchase and is only valid during the period up to and including the date of expiry.

4.2 A Zoo Member must abide at all times by the Conditions of Entry to Perth Zoo and the Terms and Conditions of the membership program. Membership privileges, associated costs and Terms and Conditions may be amended or revoked at Perth Zoo's discretion without notification. 

4.3  Zoo Memberships bought on behalf of somebody else via the online gift a membership option  are valid for 12 months from the date of confirmation. Gift recipients have three (3) years from the date of purchase to confirm their gift. After three (3) years, the gift code will expire, and the gift is forfeited.

Gift memberships must be confirmed via the online platform prior to the first visit by the recipient.

4.4 Gift certificates must be accepted as offered; they are not redeemable for cash in part or whole. Gift memberships cannot be exchanged for other like products except in the case of a customer wishing to upgrade a child membership into an adult membership (in which case the  customer must pay any difference between the respective membership values).

4.5 Zoo Memberships cannot be paid on a pro-rata basis.

4.6 Zoo Memberships are strictly non-transferable. All memberships must include current member details and photograph. Only the person named on the Zoo Membership card may use it and Perth Zoo reserves the right to cancel a membership and all benefits associated with the membership if the card is transferred to another party.

The only exception is for gift memberships that have not yet been confirmed–t hese can be transferred to another recipient during the confirmation process via the online platform.

4.7 Zoo Memberships are non-refundable. Any refunds will be at the absolute discretion of Perth Zoo and Perth Zoo may retain any service or like fee it has charged and any postage or other incidental costs that it has incurred in relation to that transaction.

4.8 Zoo Membership grants the person named on the Zoo Membership card (only) unlimited public entry during normal opening hours. This excludes special experiences, events and programs.

4.9 Perth Zoo reserves the right to cease activation of a Zoo Membership and confiscate Zoo Membership cards should the membership holder breach the terms and conditions of their membership through (but not limited to): Transferring their card to another party, misrepresenting themselves, acting inappropriately, intentionally harming Perth Zoo property (flora, fauna or facilities) or using material (still or video footage) for commercial purposes.

4.10 Admission tickets purchased on the day of a visit are eligible to be credited against the amount of a new membership purchased on the same day or within seven days via the website. The exceptions are Mini-Group and discounted tickets which can only have the amount of a single ticket credited against the amount of a new membership at the membership counter on the date of admission  (and not online up to a week later). Only one entry ticket can be credited against the cost of a new membership. Complimentary admission tickets, group tickets, and special experiences and event tickets are not entitled to this refund.

4.11 Converting an entry ticket to a membership is for personal use only and distributing these tickets to friends or family is strictly prohibited. Converted entry tickets are not eligible to be used for gift membership purchases. Perth Zoo reserves the right to cease activation of the membership if these terms and conditions are breached. 
4.12 Members who renew their membership on or before expiry receive an additional 30 days of membership free-of-charge. 

4.13 Discounts and promotions are only valid online via the Perth Zoo website and may not be used in conjunction with any other offer including the conversion of entry ticket to membership. This includes but is not limited to the discount for City of South Perth residents. Purchases from the online retail shop are not entitled to discount or promotions unless otherwise stated.

4.14 Members joining as a family will be entered as a ‘household’ and only the nominated ‘head of household’ will receive Perth Zoo communications to share among all members of that household.

4.15 Membership cards can be renewed and therefore do not require replacing each year. Replacement membership cards will incur a cost and are payable at time of order. 

4.16 Membership privileges are granted only on presentation of a valid Zoo Membership card and accompanying photo identification. Zoo Members are not entitled to discounts on purchases from the online retail shop, experiences, carousel tickets, wagon hire, Zebra Car hire, Fundraising products, special events or kids programs and activities.

4.17 Perth Zoo reserves the right to reject any application or renewal and to suspend or terminate a membership without liability or refund if any of the Terms and Conditions of the membership are not complied with, there has been abuse of the privileges (as determined by Perth Zoo), or the member has not complied with any other legal requirement.
4.18 Perth Zoo will extend the validity of Zoo Memberships for any period of unavailability of the Zoo. The extension will be equivalent to the number of days the Zoo is closed and will be applied to the end of the Zoo Membership. The extension will NOT be applied for:

  • Reduced capacity opening;
  • Special events where Zoo Membership does not qualify for entry;
  • Extreme storm protocol closure;
  • Partial site closure;
  • If the closure is less than one full day (9am to 5pm).
Perth Zoo is not liable for and will not provide extensions of membership for periods of closure at partnered zoos.

4.19 Perth Zoo has the authority to close any part of its site, including any animal exhibit or show, at any time for reasons of adverse weather, equipment failure, maintenance and construction, or in the interest of animal management and safety. The Zoo will not provide extensions of membership due to partial site closure.

4.20 Perth Zoo reserves the right to change membership prices with or without notice.

4.21 Perth Zoo will continue to keep lapsed members informed about special promotions, events and other specials offers and discounts relevant to the Zoo, its member program and business partners until a lapsed member unsubscribes from the Perth Zoo database.

4.22 Perth Zoo reserves the right to determine what constitutes a peak period of operation and when priority entry is offered. Priority entry is not applicable when operating under venue capacity restrictions due to health or other official directives.

4.23 When visiting reciprocal, interstate zoos in Australia you must present your Perth Zoo membership card and accompanying photo identification at the membership area of the interstate zoo to gain access under your membership (reciprocal free entry to interstate zoos are subject to change).

4.24 The Right to Reciprocal Entry 
  • Partners can vary and terminate the reciprocal arrangement between zoos at any time. You should be aware that Perth Zoo does not guarantee the benefit or take responsibility for partner zoos withdrawing from the program.
  • Partner zoos may charge you a non-refundable entry fee if you do not present a valid Perth Zoo Membership card upon entry, along with any other proof of identity and concessional entitlement that the partner zoo requires. The same rule applies for interstate zoo members entering Perth Zoo.
  • For Zoos Victoria members who live in NSW, SA, QLD, NT, WA and ACT, reciprocal entry rights apply to Adult, Children-under-4, Concession, Senior and Teacher members. Children between the ages of 4 and 15 will be charged entry ( subject to change). 
  • Reciprocal rights between interstate zoos only apply to zoo entry, and no discounting on retail purchases or food outlets at an interstate zoo will be applied. The same rule applies for interstate zoo members entering Perth Zoo. 
  • You acknowledge that your access to such interstate Zoos will be subject to any terms and conditions of entry imposed by the owners of operators or those interstate zoos from time to time. 
  • Please note ZoosVIC, ZoosSA and Taronga Conservation Society are separate entities and reserve the right to change terms and conditions relating to access to their zoos
  • Perth Zoo is not liable for and will not provide extensions of membership for periods of closure at partnered zoos.

5. VIP Corporate Pass Terms and Conditions

5.1 A VIP Corporate Pass is the entry component of a purchased Perth Zoo Corporate Membership, Corporate Adoption or a benefit issued to a sponsor.

5.2 The VIP Corporate Pass is valid for 12 continuous months from date of issue or as issued throughout an active sponsorship period.

5.3 A Corporate Member, Corporate Adopter, or sponsor can use their VIP Corporate Pass to provide complimentary day admission for up to four (4) guests to Perth Zoo on a pre-booked date (during Perth Zoo opening hours). 

5.4 Each VIP Corporate Pass can only be used once per day by a Corporate Member, Corporate Adopter or sponsor.

5.5 All VIP Corporate Pass bookings are managed by the organisation to whom the VIP Corporate Pass has been issued. Organisations must provide Perth Zoo with the contact details of their nominated VIP Corporate Pass Administrator/s. Perth Zoo will only accept VIP Corporate Pass bookings from authorised, nominated VIP Corporate Pass Administrator/s.    

5.6 All queries and management of the VIP Corporate Pass and its booking/s (including booking requests, cancellations, date changes etc.) are the responsibility of the Corporate Member, Corporate Adopter or sponsor organisation through their nominated VIP Corporate Pass Administrator/s.   

5.7 VIP Corporate Pass bookings made through VIP Corporate Pass Administrator/s must be received by Perth Zoo in writing before 4pm on the day prior to the earliest booking. 

5.8 The VIP Corporate Pass is not valid for admission to Perth Zoo ticketed or special events.

5.9 Children under 4 years-of-age enter for free and are not counted towards VIP Corporate Pass use.

5.10 Children (15 years-of-age or under) must be supervised by an accompanying responsible adult. 

5.11 All VIP Corporate Pass guests must queue for admission. The VIP Corporate Pass booking does not provide expedited entry.

5.12 Admission allocated as part of the VIP Corporate Pass must be accepted as offered; it is not transferable or redeemable for cash in part or whole.

5.13 The VIP Corporate Pass cannot be on-sold, transferred or reissued once it has been assigned by Perth Zoo to a Corporate Member, Corporate Adopter or sponsor. 

5.14 All VIP Corporate Pass guests must adhere to the Conditions of Entry to Perth Zoo and the Terms and Conditions of the VIP Corporate Pass.

5.15 Where a physical VIP Corporate Pass Card has been issued to a Corporate Member, Corporate Adopter or sponsor, the card remains the property of Perth Zoo and shall be returned upon request. On presentation of the VIP Corporate Pass Card, the bearer will be provided with complimentary admission for up to four (4) guests, with usage subject to the Terms and Conditions of the VIP Corporate Pass noted above. Loss of the VIP Corporate Pass Card must be immediately reported to Perth Zoo and a replacement fee of $8 (inc. GST) will be charged. 

5.16 Corporate Membership and Corporate Adoption (and the associated VIP Corporate Pass) are separate to Perth Zoo’s Zoo Membership program and, as such, any reciprocal free membership admission to interstate zoos does not apply. 

5.17 Perth Zoo reserves the right to cease a VIP Corporate Pass without refund in the event of non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions or any other legal requirement.

5.18 VIP Corporate Pass Terms and Conditions may be amended or revoked at Perth Zoo’s discretion without notification.

5.19 Perth Zoo may, at its discretion, invoice the organisation to whom the VIP Corporate Pass has been issued for any excess VIP corporate pass admissions booked and redeemed outside of the agreed scope or period.

6. Corporate Pass Terms and Conditions

6.1 A Corporate Pass is the entry component of a purchased Perth Zoo Corporate Membership, Corporate Adoption or a benefit issued to a sponsor.

6.2 The Corporate Pass is valid for 12 continuous months from date of issue or as issued throughout an active sponsorship period.

6.3 A Corporate Member, Corporate Adopter or sponsor can use their Corporate Pass to provide complimentary day admission for up to four (4) guests to Perth Zoo on a pre-booked date (during Perth Zoo opening hours). 

6.4 Each Corporate Pass can only be used once per week (Monday to Sunday) by a Corporate Member, Corporate Adopter or sponsor.

6.5 All Corporate Pass bookings are managed by the organisation to whom the Corporate Pass has been issued. Organisations must provide Perth Zoo with the contact details of their nominated Corporate Pass Administrator/s. Perth Zoo will only accept Corporate Pass bookings from authorised, nominated Corporate Pass Administrator/s.    

6.6 All queries and management of the Corporate Pass and its booking/s (including booking requests, cancellations, date changes etc.) are the responsibility of the Corporate Member, Corporate Adopter or sponsor organisation through their nominated Corporate Pass Administrator/s.   

6.7 Corporate Pass bookings must be pre-booked by Corporate Pass Administrator/s. Bookings must be received by Perth Zoo in writing before 4pm on the day prior to the earliest booking using the perpetual booking register provided. 

6.8 The VIP Corporate Pass is not valid for admission to Perth Zoo ticketed or special events.

6.9 Children under 4-years-of-age enter for free and are not counted towards VIP Corporate Pass use.

6.10 Children (15 years-of-age or under) must be supervised by an accompanying responsible adult. 

6.11 All Corporate Pass guests must queue for admission. The VIP Corporate Pass booking does not provide expedited entry.

6.12 Admission allocated as part of the Corporate Pass must be accepted as offered; it is not transferable or redeemable for cash in part or whole.

6.16 Perth Zoo reserves the right to cease a Corporate Pass without refund in the event of non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions or any other legal requirement.

6.17 Corporate Pass Terms and Conditions may be amended or revoked at Perth Zoo’s discretion without notification.

6.18 Perth Zoo may, at its discretion, invoice the organisation to whom the Corporate Pass has been issued for any excess corporate pass admissions booked and redeemed outside of the agreed scope or period.


7. Animal Close Encounter Terms and Conditions

7.1 Perth Zoo may choose to cancel specific dates or encounters due to inclement weather, animal welfare issues or other arising matters. Whenever possible, guests will be notified in advance and dates re-scheduled, exchanged or full payment will be refunded at the absolute discretion of Perth Zoo.

7.2 Animal Close Encounter ticket(s) are non‑refundable. Each individual encounter has its own specific rescheduling cut‑off time, failure to meet the specified cut‑off time may result in the Animal Close Encounter(s) being forfeited. Date changes are permitted for up to 3 years from the original purchase date.
 
7.3 By accepting these Terms and Conditions you are confirming you have understood the restrictions of the Animal Close Encounter experience you have booked and acknowledge that when participating in any experience at Perth Zoo, you will be entering areas where potentially dangerous animals are present and that these activities present some risk of danger. This includes entering areas of uneven surfaces with the potential of trip hazards. You accept the risks involved and engage in this activity at your own risk.

7.4 You accept and acknowledge that it is your responsibility to advise Perth Zoo if you or anyone in your group have any medical conditions or mobility issues, including pregnancy, cold and flu or illness that you or your doctor feels Perth Zoo should be aware of in order to ensure safety.

7.5 By accepting these Terms and Conditions you indemnify and release Perth Zoo against all actions, suits, claims and demands (including costs) for personal injury or property damage suffered by you while participating in the Close Encounter experience on Perth Zoo grounds.

8. Keeper Kids and Warriors for Wildlife Terms and Conditions

As a parent/guardian of a Keeper Kids and  Warriors for Wildlife participant, you acknowledge and agree to the following by accepting these Terms and Conditions:

8.1 If the opening hours of Perth Zoo are altered, closed, cancelled or curtailed, Keeper Kids and Warriors for Wildlife ticket refunds or exchanges will be at the absolute discretion of Perth Zoo.

8.2 Keeper Kids and Warriors for Wildlife tickets are non-refundable. All date changes must be made a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the booked program date and tickets are only valid for the date displayed on the ticket. Date changes are permitted up to a maximum of three (3) years from the initial purchase date.

8.3 You will ensure the participant arrives on time and is picked up on time. Participants must be signed-in and signed-out of this event by an adult.

8.4 You confirm the participant can follow clear instructions, remain calm and quiet when asked to do so, and will treat other participants, staff and animals with respect and courtesy.

8.5 If the participant’s behaviour puts them, others or animals at risk, you acknowledge and accept they will be removed from the program.

8.6 Should the participant be unable to complete the program, you will collect them in a timely manner upon request.

8.7 You understand the participant may enter areas or come into contact with surfaces that may have been exposed to nuts, nut products, fur or other potential allergens.

8.8 The participant may be refused admittance to the program if they are not wearing closed-in shoes or do not have weather appropriate clothing/accessories.

8.9 The participant will bring their own morning tea, lunch (that does not require heating or cooking) and bring a refillable drink bottle. Participants will not be able to visit the Zoo Café or use the vending machines.

8.10 In the case of an emergency involving the participant/your child, Perth Zoo staff may seek medical and/or hospital and/or ambulance services. You agree to meet any expenses incurred in treating the participant/your child as a result of an emergency incident.

8.11 By accepting these Terms and Conditions you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Perth Zoo and its Board Members and employees against any loss, liability, claim, action, damage and/or expense whatsoever (including but not limited to any and all expenses whatsoever reasonably incurred in investigating, preparing or defending against any litigation commenced or threatened or any claim whatsoever) arising out of the participation of the participant/your child in the Keeper Kids and Warriors for Wildlife programs.

8.12 When participating in any experience / activity at Perth Zoo, the participant will be entering areas where potentially dangerous animals are present;  these activities present some risk of danger. This includes areas of uneven surfaces with the potential of trip hazards. The participant accepts the risks involved and engages in this activity at their own risk.

8.13 Perth Zoo may take photographs and/or video recordings (and/or stills therefrom) of participants and may use these photographs and video recordings for any worldwide media or other purpose, including but not limited to advertising or promotional purposes, and training purposes, without payment of any kind to participant(s). If a participant is under 16 years-of-age, the parent, guardian or responsible adult booking or accompanying them to Perth Zoo as a general visitor and/or for an event(s), education program(s) or animal close encounter(s) will be deemed to have given consent on their behalf, unless notified in writing at the time of booking to discoveryandlearning@perthzoo.wa.gov.au. Entry to Perth Zoo as a general visitor, and/or for an event(s), education program(s) or animal close encounter(s) shall be deemed consent to the use of these photographs and video recordings.

9. Wild Vets and Keeper Careers Terms and Conditions

By accepting these Terms and Conditions you acknowledge and agree to the following:

9.1 If the opening hours of Perth Zoo are altered, closed, cancelled or curtailed, Wild Vets and Keeper Careers ticket refunds or exchanges will be at the absolute discretion of Perth Zoo.

9.2 Wild Vets and Keeper Careers tickets are non-refundable.  All date changes must be made a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the booked program date and tickets are only valid for the date displayed on the ticket. Date changes are permitted up to a maximum of three (3) years from the initial purchase date.

9.3 It is the participant's responsibility to arrive on time and return from breaks on time.

9.4 If the participant's behaviour puts themselves, others or animals at risk, they will be removed from the program. 

9.5 The participant must be able to follow clear instructions, remain calm and quiet when asked to do so, and treat other participants, staff and animals with respect and courtesy.

9.6 Should the participant be unable to (or choose not to) complete the program, their parent/guardian will be informed.

9.7 Some Wild Vets and Keeper Careers activities may involve images involving blood or wounds.

9.8 The participant will come into contact with a variety of animals including reptiles, birds and mammals.

9.9 The participant may enter areas or come into contact with surfaces that may have been exposed to nuts, nut products, fur or other potential allergens.

9.10 To be admitted into the program, the participant must wear closed-in shoes and should also bring weather appropriate clothing/accessories.

9.11 The participant will need to supply their own morning tea, lunch (that does not require heating or cooking) and bring a refillable drink bottle. (Participants will not be supervised during breaks and may choose to purchase food in the Zoo grounds.)

9.12 Perth Zoo is a 100% Smoke Free Venue. Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the Zoo grounds.

9.13 When participating in any experience / activity at Perth Zoo, the participant will be entering areas where potentially dangerous animals are present. These activities present some risk of danger. This includes areas of uneven surfaces with the potential of trip hazards. The participant accepts the risks involved and engages in this activity at their own risk.

9.14 By accepting these Terms and Conditions you indemnify and release Perth Zoo against all actions, suits, claims and demands (including costs) for personal injury or property damage suffered by your child while participating in the Wild Vets or Keeper Careers programs.

9.15 Perth Zoo may take photographs and/or video recordings (and/or stills therefrom) of participants and may use these photographs and video recordings for any worldwide media or other purpose, including but not limited to advertising or promotional purposes, and training purposes, without payment of any kind to participant(s). If a participant is under 16 years-of-age, the parent, guardian or responsible adult booking or accompanying them to Perth Zoo as a general visitor, and/or for an event(s), education program(s) or animal close encounter(s) will be deemed to have given consent on their behalf, unless notified in writing at the time of booking to discoveryandlearning@perthzoo.wa.gov.au. Entry to Perth Zoo as a general visitor, and/or for an event(s), education program(s) or animal close encounter(s) shall be deemed consent to the use of these photographs and video recordings.

10. Bio Buddies and Wild Explorers Terms and Conditions

10.1 If the opening hours of Perth Zoo are altered, closed, cancelled or curtailed, Bio Buddies and Wild Explorers ticket refunds or exchanges will be at the absolute discretion of Perth Zoo.

10.2 Bio Buddies and Wild Explorers tickets are non-refundable. 10.4 Bio Buddies and Wild Explorers fees cover the cost of the program only. Children aged four (4) and above and accompanying adults will incur an additional cost for admittance to Perth Zoo each week, unless they have a Zoo Membership.

11. Donation Terms

11.1 In making a donation through this website you will contribute to Perth Zoo’s fundraising program established for the purpose of supporting conservation projects.

A donation to Perth Zoo (whether financial or in-kind) may, at Perth Zoo’s discretion, be directed to a specific purpose or may support our conservation, education and animal welfare programs.

11.2 Perth Zoo is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) under Categories 1 and 4, allowing Australian taxpayers to claim a tax deduction for donations of $2 or more.
Donors are responsible for providing accurate personal and tax details when making a donation. Perth Zoo will issue tax receipts for eligible contributions.

Perth Zoo will offer the option of a tax receipt to all website donors for this purpose. It is the responsibility of the donor to take advantage of this option and to enter all the correct tax details.

11.3 It is the choice and responsibility of the donor to take advantage of Perth Zoo’s Deductible Gift Recipient status. Ensure you transact your donation correctly and provide the necessary information. Perth Zoo accepts no responsibility for refunding donations.
